What we believe

St. Luke’s is an evangelical Anglican church within the Sydney Diocese. In brief, our core beliefs are:

Jesus – We believe that Jesus is God’s Son who came to earth, was crucified, and then was raised to life again. We believe that by trusting in him we find forgiveness for our sins and peace with God. We believe that this is good news that everyone needs to hear about.

The Bible – We believe that Bible is God’s word to us, and it’s there that we learn about Jesus and what it means to trust him and live for him.

The Holy Spirit – We believe that God gives his Spirit to all those who trust in Jesus, and he helps us as we seek to grow day by day in our relationship with God.

Prayer – We believe that God listens when we pray, and that praying is an important part of our relationship with him.

Care – We believe that caring for people in practical ways is an important part of being a follower of Jesus, and an important part of our life as a church.
